We had a snow day again. Since I like lists here are the things I did today.

That's a picture from www.komotv.com and those are cars people abandoned last night on the freeway.
It sure makes a person thankful for a warm home.
P.S. We had a snow day today-no school!

Paint by Numbers

27: Parent-teacher conferences I did over the last two and 1/2 days
1: "No shows" at conferences
1: Conferences rescheduled for next week after school
2: Times my mom said, "Pie is good for breakfast" during our phone conversation tonight

Since I was done with conferences by 10:30 this morning, I managed to get out and do all those errands that never manage to get themselves done during the regular work week, like picking up checks at the bank, returning library books, and visitin gthe local produce stand. Twice. I also managed to do laundry, make a chocolate pudding pie, cut up veggies for the veggie tray, bake potatoes for yummy Holiday potatoes, baked homemade rolls, and candied almonds for the green salad. I always feel so good when I've accomplished so much in one day! Tomorrow we're heading up to our friend's house for Thanksgiving and I think we'll be spending the rest of the break at my in-laws house up north since they're out of town, we're dog sitting their Gordan Setter, Charlie, and because they have a hot tub! My throat is KILLING me from talking non-stop so I'm heading to bed. At 9:00pm. I'm so cool.

This was my surprise in the mail today. . .

Warning for Parents:

Your kids are listening to EVERYTHING you say. . .

One of my third-graders today, "My mom is really 34 but she says she's 29."

Things kids said to me today

I really like you.

Can I have a hug?

But I don't know what division means! Like is it multiplication but just different?

Fire! Run!*

This is the best book I've ever heard in my whole life. And I mean ALL of my life, not just this year.

This is the weirdest reading conference I've ever had.

She cutted me!

Do we have to have report cards? Who says?

*It was just the fire alarm. 7 times. Don't ask.

I didn't like the movie. Yes, there were funny parts but the disgusting parts overpowered them. Onto bigger and better things.
We joined a gym. We went today and I am so freaking weak and out of shape it's embarrassing. I guess the only way to improve is to keep going. There is heart disease on both sides of my family, as well as diabetes, high blood pressure, and other health issues and although I am in no way overweight, I am concerned about my health. That, and I need a stress reliever. We're going to try for a Saturday/Tuesday/Thursday gym schedule and I have yoga/pilates on Mondays. Check back with me to see if we actually do it. I'm off to work on report cards! By the way. . .

How do you keep yourself motivated to work out?
